ABOUT
SOUL of
MAHDIYA
Mysticism meets Movement.
Welcome, I’m Yasmina, also known as Mahdiya Moonshine.
I’ve always been sensitive, perceptive and deeply curious about people, energy and the unseen layers of life.
Whether through readings, movement or performance, my work is rooted in connection and creating experiences that quietly stir something transformative inside of you.
What Shapes My Work
My Story
Some of my earliest memories are sitting around a round table as a child, watching my mum and her friends read tarot cards, cast runes and speak about all things mystical beneath the glow of a warm amber 70’s light. The room was filled with cigarette smoke, wine, laughter and stories.
Spirituality, for me, was never sterile or perfect. It was human. Messy. Grounded. Alive.
That perspective still shapes the work I do today.
I don’t relate to “love and light” spirituality or the idea that being spiritual means being endlessly enlightened or removed from real life. My path hasn’t been linear, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. What I do know is that through my work, I’m able to help people feel more connected to themselves, more confident in their decisions and more supported through periods of change, uncertainty and transformation.
Dance has always been another form of healing and expression for me. Raqs Sharqi (belly dance) became a way for me to reconnect with my Tunisian heritage, where music, movement and connection are deeply woven into the culture. Burlesque entered my life in 2022 and quickly became another extension of storytelling, transformation and self-expression.
I tried keeping these parts of me separate, but I didn’t feel authentic, or like I could fully express my true self.
Soul of Mahdiya is the home for all of it. The intuition. The movement. The artistry. The mystery. And the very human experience of trying to find meaning, connection and magic while still living in reality.
My Values
-
Finding meaning, connection and a little magic while still living in the real world.
-
Creating experiences that help people feel more connected to themselves, their intuition and each other.
-
Honouring the messy, emotional and deeply human experience of navigating life, change and uncertainty. As well as honouring the lands that I work on and origins of spiritual practices.
-
Approaching intuitive work with honesty, ethics, responsibility and care.
-
Encouraging reflection, movement and experiences that quietly shift the way people see themselves and the world around them. Also honoring, I too will develop, grow and change the more I learn.
-
Using movement, storytelling and performance as pathways for embodiment, emotion and self-discovery.
-
Remaining open to mystery, exploration and the unseen without claiming to have all the answers.
